Your Entitlement

As a student at Hampton College, you are entitled to high quality, personalised careers education, information, advice and guidance. We aim to provide you with up-to-date labour market information, at least two careers advice meetings with our careers adviser, and at least two opportunities to experience a job in workplaces of your choice. We aim to give you at least one encounter with an employer every year that you are at Hampton College, in order to prepare you for your future in the workplace.

Every subject that you study at Hampton College is relevant to future careers, and your teachers will be able to advise you on how to utilise these skills and pursue careers in your fields of interest.

You are entitled to unbiased advice on your future pathways, and we will endeavour to help you understand every option available to you, including all further and higher education providers.

Labour Market Information

The labour market is constantly changing; jobs that exist now may not in 20 years’ time. Equally, in 20 years’ time, there may be jobs that we haven’t even thought of in 2019! With this evolving environment, it can be difficult to choose your future career, however, the current picture of the market is as follows:

In Cambridgeshire, it is predicted that Wholesale, Retail, Mechanics, Healthcare, Social Work, and Administrative industries will continue to grow over the next few years.
