Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is a real job with training, which allows trainees to earn while they learn, as well as gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeships take between one and five years to complete, and cover an enormous range of job roles, such as accountancy, engineering, public relations, and dentistry; to name a few.

There are many different levels of apprenticeship:

  • Intermediate apprenticeship (Level 2): equivalent to 5 GCSE passes
  • Advanced apprenticeship (Level 3): equivalent to 2 A Level passes
  • Higher apprenticeship (Level 4 and above): equivalent to an NVQ, or Higher National Diploma
  • Degree apprenticeship (Level 6 and above): equivalent to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

Each type of apprenticeship has different entry requirements, and vary in how long they take to complete. More information can be found here.

If you are interested in pursuing an apprenticeship, you can check for vacancies.

If you are applying for an apprenticeship, and would like help with your application, please see Miss Chester in room 30, or email.
