The Hampton Academies Trust (HAT) is delighted that its bid to open the first primary school on the new Hampton East development has been successful. The news was announced last Wednesday (12 April) when the Department for Education published the national list of successful projects.
The school will be a two form entry primary school, due to open in a new building on the development in September 2019. Helen Price, Executive Headteacher at the trust, commented ‘we are particularly pleased to have been successful in this very competitive bidding round. We believe that our bid was successful on the basis of the strength of our educational vision and our track record as a local education trust. We are now looking forward to beginning the design process for the new school building and ensuring that the modern accommodation will match the quality of the educational vision for the school.’
Hampton East has become the working title of the project, reflecting the name of the overall planning area for the new housing development. A permanent name for the school will be announced in the coming weeks.
